GMC-Russia 2007/08: Team Resurs Results
Russia team successfully finished in the management competition #1 in the world Global Management Challenge getting the 5th place out of 25 countries.
Members of Russia team are Vitaly Kuzmin (AIBEc), Roman Shilov (AIBEc), Vladimir Smetana (MIRBIS), Nikolay Karavaev (MIRBIS).
Russian National Final
On March 28 in Moscow our team “Resurs” won the 1st place out of more than 100 corporate, university and MBA teams in Russia beating 8 top Russian teams at National Final.



International Final
A total of 25 countries competed for the title of world champion of this International Competition of Strategy and Management that originated in Portugal almost 30 years ago.
The final was organized over two days. In the first day, teams were divided into four groups competing to be the top two teams of each group. The two teams with the highest company share price in each group were the eight teams that qualified for the final in the second day.
For the first day Russia team competed with 5 strong teams: Germany, Spain, Slovakia, Brazil, Denmark and won the 1st place in the group with confidence.

The teams present in Superfinal were Germany, Hong Kong, Macau, P.R.China, Poland, Portugal, Russia and the United Kingdom. These teams created competition the fiercest we’ve ever seen. 7 of 8 teams had good chances for winning before the last step.

The team was close to getting to the first three though we finished just 0.02 points behind the 3rd place.

About Global Management Challenge
The Global Management Challenge is the biggest Strategic and Management Competition in the world. It's the largest international event based on business simulations, in which more than 375 000 university students and company managers participating in this event throughout the world.
The concept of the competition emerged in 1980 in Portugal by SDG – Simuladores e Modelos de Gestão – in partnership with the weekly newspaper EXPRESSO. EXPRESSO has not only given a great amount of national coverage on the competition, but has also contributed immensely to the internationalization process.

The Global Management Challenge consists of a Management Simulation in which each team runs a Company, with the objective of getting the highest company share price on the simulated Stock exchange.
Managing a company, without running real-world risks, and taking top management decisions, the competitors are given the opportunity to:

• Broaden their views on Corporate Strategy,
• Interact with the different Functional Areas of a Company,
